We here at M&M are excited for the upcoming release of a special documentary entitled, “57/30” that recently had the first teaser trailer release to Youtube.
You might notice M&M founder and president, Steve, flash before your eyes with a very impressive quote and you might also think to yourself that whoever did the music for the trailer must be pretty awesome (that would be M&M sound maker, Taylor). We were very excited to be a part of such a fun project that documents (why they call it a documentary) the journey of Jonathan Mollman, aka the Mountain Goat, as he set out to climb all 57 ‘fourteeners’ in Colorado, in just 30 days. Thus the name 57/30. For those who don’t know what a fourteener is, no worries, they are just the really tall mountain peaks that are spread out across the state that rise above sea level by at least 14,000 ft.
While many people have climbed one and several have climbed them all, veeerry few people have done so in such a short period of time. In order to accomplish the feat, on multiple occasions Jonathan had to hike the distance of a marathon in one day while simultaneously going over three mountain peaks. Returning to the parking lot to drive to the next mountain, spend the night in the truck bed, and get up and do it all over again. Along the way, he encountered many challenges: some physical, some emotional, and even some spiritual. If the story and amazing music wasn’t enough, you should at least watch it for the amazing footage that he was able to capture along the way. Don’t be fooled, while it looks like a crew of 6 people were filming this project, just remember that it was just Jonathan and his cameras up there on the trail…or well pile of rocks here and there pointing the way to go…or…just follow the mountain goats…they known the way (not kidding).
If you haven’t already, check out the trailer, subscribe to his channel and tell your friends, enemies, and family members that work at steaming companies about it. You’ll be glad you did.
